Adoption Events
Fur-Ever Homes Rescue participates in adoption events every weekend (mostly Saturdays) at local pet stores in Calgary. If you are interested in adopting a dog at an event, bring all household members and pets to meet the adoptable dog, to assure compatibility.
Dogs that will be attending the event will be posted on our Facebook page on Friday. If you have filled out the online application or not, you will be required to complete the entire application process on site as the volunteers do not have access to online applications or communication with the adoption coordinator.
The process is not first come first serve – up to 3 applications will be accepted for each dog. The best suited adopter will be chosen from those 3 applicants AND if all 3 are not the right fit, more applications will be accepted.
Dogs in Foster
Dogs that reside in private foster homes throughout Calgary can only be visited by pre-approved adopters. Once your application has been pre-approved, it will be forwarded to the foster parents and arrangements can be made at that time.
If the meeting goes well and the adopter would like to proceed with the adoption, the adopter is required to leave the foster home to notify the rescue, complete the final paperwork and pay the adoption fee. Upon receipt of this information, the foster will be notified and the adopter will be able to pick up their new pet.
